Flowers woven into the fabric of local floral designs

My first real corporate job was with Nordstrom's Department Store. Although I was not there for very long, many aspects of that first job remain with me today. The same love of exquisitely beautiful fabric draws me to the beauty of flowers. The play of color and luster is what I experience in the garden today.

From my early days of commuting to a corporate job, I became a Realtor. I settled into working in the neighborhoods of my town. Real estate was my first hand at working for myself. However, after 30 years, I longed for a change. I was burnt out with little passion for what I was doing. I wanted, I needed, to find true joy and passion again. I desired to find kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and creative people.

I wanted to find the same experience I had with my 3-Day Event horses, where I trained and competed. It was challenging and scary at times, but I loved the long days outside, winter and summer, working towards every small achievement resulting from my hard work and dedication.

Although everything was already in place, my love of being outside, working the dirt, gardening, and desire to learn, it would take many years for Puck’s Garden to materialize from the ideas in my head to my beautiful garden today. The desires I had began to come alive one particular Spring Saturday in May 2017. I visited one of my favorite nurseries, Annies Annuals, in Richmond, California. I spent hours there getting lost in all the plants. Whenever I bring up the idea of a visit, my husband always says, "Annies?" with much trepidation, knowing the hours that will ensue. He kindly urges me, "You go on; I'll stay home this time!"

On this particular occasion in Spring, I went to see a short lecture with the co-author of a new book being pushed by Amazon, Floret's Farm: Cut Flower Garden. That was it! I was hooked. My brain clicked. Lightbulbs went off, and the thoughts that I had been manifesting of working outside towards something beautiful were realized.

From Norstrom's lustrous fabrics to the garden's colorful fabrics, I get to weave beautiful hand-harvested flowers into lovely floral designs. Whether it is a bouquet of flowers delivered to a doorstep or several designs meticulously curated for special events, I am truly blessed to have found my passion and the ability to share it with others.
